I finish graduate school next year and I will be working as a healthcare professional. I would like to be able to speak fluently enough to ask basic questions to obtain background information and symptoms.

I’d love to hear a good answer on this question. We’ve adopted a baby from Central America and want her to know her native language but we speak very little Spanish.

if you really want it, you have several options:
1) do it on line.
2) go to a country where spanish is the official language for a few months and interact with the people, I assure you, you will come back with a new language.
3) if you need only the essentials, surely there is a brief with the vocabulary and phrases you will need.
don´t worry. It´s easy.
In the meantime, try with some colleague, in a few weeks you will be speaking the essentials, and in a few months you will speak as a native..!!!
