Anyone know of a Good Online Spanish Course?
Hi, I want to learn how to speak Spanish with the help of an online Spanish course or something like that. I have tried the free sites online and I can’t really get any good Spanish information out of them.
They don’t really have a lot of websites reviewing good online Spanish courses so does anyone know first hand of a good Spanish course (must be online) or “Spanish learning program” (I guess thats what it would be called lol)
How much money should I be looking to spend if I really want to learn? If necessary I guess I’d spend up to $500 (only assuming that I actually learn to speak Spanish; I don’t want to dump money into a bad quality online Spanish course)
I was born in the United States, and my only Spanish knowledge comes from high school. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I haven’t actually taken the spanish course, but I’m currently learning french on
It’s pretty good, and you get to learn by talking to native speakers, rather than just reading pages upon pages.
It’s free too. =]

Well, I guess I’ll be the first to take a ***** at this. I’m an on-line spanish teacher so here are some of my opinions.
It depends much on how much you want to learn and I don’t mean motivation but quantity. Truely learning to speak any new language takes years and years and at least some years speaking the language with native speakers to get it down even half-way.
If you want support to learn spanish, I’d like to recommend LearnSpanish.com or StudySpanish.com (they’re actually the same site). There’s a lot of imformation there but you must supplement it with other books of study and tons of motivation. If you want to go so far, there are also teachers to help you for next to nothing (well, that’s my fee anyway).
But I want to reinterate, you will NEVER learn to speak spanish completely by either books alone or using an internet study site. You MUST spend lots (and I mean tons) of time actually speaking the language with native speakers.
By the way – be sure to get Barron’s 501 Spanish Verbs and Dorthy Richmond’s book, Spanish Verb Tenses to help you. And get a reasonable dictionary. Right now, my recommendation is the Berlitz dictionary. It’s pretty good although I’ve found a few mistakes. Don’t get the Chicago University and especially don’t get into the VOX series. They’re just way over your head and will confuse you to no end.
It took me 11 years to get very good at spanish. Don’t expect miracles. They just don’t happen. Hey, but don’t ever give up no mattes how hard it gets either (and it can get hard). Stay with it at your best pace and it will eventually come to you. I know.

I am American living in the USA and I have recently created a multi-media English – Spanish forum for us to have a place to come together and practice and share information about our languages and cultures. It is loaded with features and information to facilitate learning and practice of both languages including chat: both text and live voice. When you have time, give us a visit at . We are new, but are growing a little at a time. Hope to see you there soon.

theres actually a few really good ones that you can find online. one is called Rocket Spanish (see below for links).
I tried this online spanish course last year and it worked just like it said it would. I don’t think i actually learned spanish in 8 weeks though, but then again i wasn’t giving it my full attention.
if you really want to learn spanish online, make sure you actually stick with it and dont get sidetracked. its not really something that you can work on one day and then take a week break and then come back to.
once you learn fully learn the language you should be good for a while, but while in the process DO NOT TAKE BREAKS! lol
you shouldn’t be paying 500 bucks for anything, but if you want to try them both it will cost about a total of $200.
The two online spanish courses that were reviewed have money back guarantees so there is no need to worry. give it a try
