If the job description required someone to speak spanish then you are SOL.
Learn Spanish Beginners
If speaking spanish is a necassry part of the job, you are not qualified. It is not discrimination to not hire someone who isn’t qualified for the job. As an american you do not have the right to any job even if you are qualified for it, which you clearly are not.

No, it is not discrimination. Discrimination is when you are turned down for a job on the basis of race, nationality, gender or handicap.
They need someone who can speak Spanish to their customers. That’s a business decision, not discrimination.
Learn Spanish Pronunciation
It sounds like it could be discrimination to me. Unless the ability to speak Spanish is part of the official job description, it is unfair to base their hiring practices on that. Call the ACLU. Maybe they can help you.

It depends on the job (you didn’t go into detail). For example of the job involved working directly with customers and most of companies customers speak little or no English, only Spanish, then you don’t have the qualifications for the job.

No, it’s not discrimination, it’s refusing to hire an underqualified employee. You absolutely have the right, as an American, to further your education and learn Spanish. Or you could stop applying for jobs that have the word “Bilingual” in the job description, that’ll net you a few less rejections too. You have the power to either fix this situation yourself, or blame other people. One will get you a solution, the other will just get you bitter.

No, if speaking Spanish is a necessary part of the job, you simply aren’t qualified…
The same way if you would need a business degree (or whatever else, i’m not an expert) to work on wall street…

if you need to speak spanish in the job you are not qualified if you don’t.
How To Learn Spanish Online
It’s not discrimination. The ability to speak Spanish is a skill, and a job could require that skill. You do not possess that ability, and so you didn’t get the job. Should they hire you if you don’t possess that skill? What happens when somebody talks to you in Spanish? You do nothing? Discrimination is unfavorable bias towards someone on the basis of something out of their control, you have control over whether or not you know Spanish.

If they wouldn’t hire you simply because you weren’t of a Spanish heritage, then yes, that would be discrimination. You can’t help being American.
But if they wouldn’t hire because you couldn’t speak Spanish, that’s not discrimination, because speaking Spanish is a skill.
You CAN help whether you can speak Spanish or not.
Make sense?
Learn Spanish Flashcards
You have no rights unless you are a minority, this has always been the case. My husband applied for a state job when we really need money and they told him that they didn’t have any positions opened. We wound up having to move to another state so he could find a job, and you would never guess he ended up working with this Chinese girl that had worked for the state in the state we once lived in, he was pissed. She even told him that there were plenty of positions opened, but they only hired chinese people on visas. It’s discrimination but because you are the majority it doesn’t count.

No, it’s not discrimination.
Some jobs require you to be able to speak Spanish, just like some require you to have a degree. Would that be discrimination against non-college graduates if they said you had to have a bachelor’s for the job and you didn’t?
