You shouldn’t. Although I certainly agree that knowing more than one language is beneficial and rewarding, I do not agree that people who refuse to assimilate to the language of this country should get to choose that language for you. There are, after all, hundreds of languages in the world, and learning any one of them will make you bilingual.

I agree with you 100%!!! Not to mention I **** it when mexican people come up to me and start talking to me in spanish and I tell them I don’t know it cause I was born here. The get all offended and tell me well I should know it what’s wrong with my parents…How dumb is that!
