Alright I would like to learn Afrikaans. How long do you think it will take me to do so? Is it an easy language to leanrn? Currently I am fluent in English and am learning Spanish.

Since your native language is English, then Afrikaans will be very easy for you. Really, Afrikaans is Dutch that’s changed here and there. Since Dutch is the closest language to English, then it’ll be a breeze. I’m DYING to learn it, too. It looks so cool written and sounds cool! I also want to speak Dutch really badly, too!
Not many speak it in Africa all together, but many speak Afrikaans in Namibia and South Africa, but mainly in South Africa. 14-16 million speak Afrikaans.
